With an utterly pretty face and an amazing talent, Sonia Balani is all set to make her mark as a lead actress with her show Tu Mera Hero (Shashi Sumeet Productions Pvt Ltd) on Star Plus.

Tellychakkar.com got in touch with the girl who sounded all excited about the project. “Panchi is a very cute, positive girl next door who is a solution seeker and has a positive approach to life. She is a responsible young girl who takes up all jobs at hand and completes it. She is also very practical and a girl who is also a hopeless romantic. She would stand out from usual show heroines because of that charming nature of hers.”

Panchi would fall in love with Titu who is a complete opposite, personality-wise. When asked whether she too feels that opposites attract, Sonia smiled, “I do feel it happens and I am sure that’s how it should be. For a couple, to add some vivaciousness and charm in the relation, varied personalities always help.”

When asked about the kind of boy she would fall for, the actress said, “To tell you honestly I am not romantic. This was the major reason why I agreed to do this role, for I wanted to enjoy the romance factor. I am a very practical and different person from Panchi and that brings a challenge to me.”

Sonia’s earlier outing as Pihu in Bade Acche LagteHain too had been quite a different personality compared to her. Stating the reason behind it, Sonia shared, “I am an actor who likes challenges and that is why I opt for characters that are very different from me. When I come to the sets I should like daring myself in trying out something interesting and exciting.”

Also Sonia was the second choice as Pihu and same is the case with Tu Mera Hero. When asked about that she quipped, “Personally yes, I do not like the fact and that is the reason I refrain from getting into the bottom of the matter. I take my projects as a fresh opportunity and do not delve into what has gone into it.”

Talking about her team, the young girl shared, “I am not really a social person and thus have really few friends who are lifelong ones. I do miss the cast of BALH as we were all young and gelled well, but I must say this show has given me a different experience, and working with such senior actors who are so down to earth is superb. They are all very supportive and helpful.”

Since Sonia is known for her cute and bubbly character, we asked whether she would be fine doing intimate scenes onscreen. “Yes I think I would have a hard time doing that (smiles). To be honest I think TV has a plus point that not much of bold content can be shown. I am otherwise a little conservative by nature and would be really uncomfortable.”

And finally when we asked her about three things that viewers can expect from the show, the actor smiled, “Firstly humour- for this show is a stress buster and light hearted comedy. Secondly romance, lots of it which people can actually relate with and thirdly lots of entertainment.”
