We are talking about Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai that has managed to make its mark as the longest running show on Star Plus.

Helmed by Rajan Shahi, the daily hit tubes in 2009 with new faces Karan Mehra and Hina Khan playing the leads Naitik and Akshara. Overnight, the two became a household name and the show topped charts.

The beauty of YRKKH definitely lies in its simple story telling and real life day to day issues. No extra drama...no vamp and no over the top performance. Sweet and subtle drama has definitely made it a hit.

Tonight with the show airing its 1833 episode, it will cross the mark set by Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Balika Vadhu though holds the position of the overall longest running fiction show on TV.

Currently, post few leaps, Akshara and Naitik are seen as a happy parent of two kids Naksh and Naira, and the happy family still stands together through thick and thin.

Apart from Karan and Hina, Rohan Mehra, Ashnoor Kaur, Sandeep Mehta, Kshitee Jog, Medha Sambutkar, Anshul Pandey, Sanjeev Seth, Lata Sabharwal, Vineeta Malik, Yash Gera, Pooja Joshi, Neha Saroopa, Nidhi Uttam and others are part of the show.
