Stories on internet helped me connect with the issue Phir Subah Hogi is dealing with, says Nandish Sandhu

We had promised our readers then that we would get back with Nandish’s thoughts on the role. Here is Nandish in conversation with Tellychakkar.com on his comeback vehicle and on life after Uttaran… Nandish Sandhu says, “Phir Subah Hogi is a different show that tackles an issue that is prevalent in reality. The character too is different when compared to the roles I have played till now. Aditya’s character is an interesting one; he is a strong guy, practical who does not believe in love too much. He is rather more inclined towards the ambitions in his life. And this is exactly what caught my attention when I was choosing my next project. I have never played a guy who is not in love (smiles).” Nandish took help from internet to know more on the concept that Phir Subah Hogi is dealing with. “I did not prepare much for the role in hand. However, when I was narrated the concept I really had my doubts whether such a custom does prevail in India. So I browsed quite a lot on internet to get my answers. I was really shocked to know that such a custom is prevalent even today in Bundelkhand and many other places. The stories on internet helped me a lot to understand the issue and connect with the facts that the show is dealing with. Moreover, I am from Rajasthan and I happened to talk to people over there to know more on this system off Sar Dakhai.” So was he not apprehensive of stepping into the shoes of another? “My job is to listen out to the role offered. I wanted to make sure that the actor playing the role was not kept in dark. I was informed that Anuj Sachdeva was already told about the replacement and he had no objection to it. Only then did I accept the role.” On life post Uttaran, the actor explains, “My marriage kept me busy. Also, I was shooting for a film during this time. I got engaged in photography too. I had been working for three years, and I very desperately wanted this three month break.” Now that Rashmi Desai is also back on TV with Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa almost at the same time, is this a planned comeback for both? “Rashmi and I had a good vacation, went out to few holy places and fulfilled all family commitments. We had a jolly good time after marriage, and we have now decided that it is time to work.” Nandish was earlier offered the lead role in Zee TV’s Rab Se Sona Isshq but he could not pick it up due to health reasons. “Yes, I could not take up a trip to London at that time as I was down in health. But I am happy that God had this in store for me, and I was destined to work with Zee TV. I have worked with FilmFarm which is the best production house to work with. I am looking forward to good work with the production house of Phir Subah Hogi. The team is very organized and was warm in welcoming me.
