Sudden shutdown of CID shocks fans! Will the serial be back?

CID

MUMBAI: CID is one of the longest running shows on television. The show that started way back in 1997 and has had a successful run for 21 years. What is special about this serial is that the same star cast, Shivaji Satam as ACP Pradyuman, Aditya Shrivastav and Dayanand Shetty as Senior Inspectors Abhijeet and Daya respectively, and Dinesh Phadnis as Inspector Fredricks have been loyal to it since its launch.

However, CID has suddenly disappeared from the small screen. The last episode was aired on July 22. The show has been put on hold after the premiere of Indian Idol. Since the singing reality show is doing quite well on the TRP charts, the show might be brought back after the show wraps up, that is in 3 to 4 months.

There is no official announcement yet about the show going off air, and there is no word about its return. According to some fan pages, the show will not air anytime soon, even though there are 6–7 episodes in the bank waiting for a green signal from Sony TV.

They are many fan pages on CID that are demanding justice for the serial. As of now, Sony repeats Indian Idol 10 and Dus Ka Dum from the 10:30 PM slot onward. Fans are upset and are repeatedly questioning the channel and makers about when the serial will air again.

Well, TellyChakkar has some good news for fans of CID. It will be back on 22 September in its original time slot, which is 10:30 PM.

Ansha Sayed, who essays the role of Purvi in CID, took to her Instagram profile and assured fans that they need not worry. She said that they have shot some interesting episodes that will be telecast soon.
