In an unprecedented turn of events, actor Kavita Kaushik took to dig at Kangana Ranaut while suggesting Priyanka Chopra’s name for Padma Shri. She slammed Kangana’s unusual statements that have grabbed the headlines. Reacting to the same, Kavita said that Priyanka had ‘put Indian culture on a pedestal’ without ever being abrasive about it.

Taking to Twitter Kavita wrote, “Why didn’t she get padamshree!? Fantastic actor, Brilliant human being, Globally a huge success and has put indian culture on a pedestrial without holding a flag about it ! And yes has never insulted any senior or contemporary artist or anyone for that matter! She is awesome!!”

Priyanka Chopra, on the other hand, was awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian honour, in 2016.

The recent jibe comes after Kangana Ranaut once again sparked controversy at the recent Times Now Summit 2021, where she mentioned that the country achieved freedom back in 1947 as ‘Bheek’ (alms) and the country actually got its freedom in 2014.
