Meghan Markle accuses UK tabloid of THIS

MUMBAI : Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot in 2018, and after three months, the former Suits actress took legal action against British newspaper and its publisher Associated Newspapers for publishing excerpts from her letter sent to her father Thomas Markle. The reason behind Meghan’s decision of taking legal action against the newspapers was as the letter to her father was ‘private and confidential.’ Now, reportedly, Meghan Markle is taking action against British newspaper as they threatened they would reveal the names of friends who spoke in her support.

According to a report in People.com, in a statement, Meghan Markle filed an application at the High Court in London writing about the British newspaper threatening to publish the names of the five women, who spoke in her support. Meghan’s application read, “Associated Newspapers, the owner of The Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday, is threatening to publish the names of five women—five private citizens—who made a choice on their own to speak anonymously with a U.S. media outlet more than a year ago, to defend me from the bullying behaviour of Britain’s tabloid media.”

The former Suits actress continued to explain how the five women are neither on trial, and nor is she, but mentioned how the publisher of the Mail on Sunday, the one on trial is acting unlawfully and is attempting to evade accountability just to create a circus and distract everyone from the actual case of the letter. She mentioned how each one of the five women is a private citizen, young mother, and each has a basic right to privacy.
