Devoleena Bhattacharjee

Devoleena was born to an Assamese mother and a Bengali father in Sivasagar, Assam where she also completed her education. She lost her father in 1997. Currently, she lives with her mom, her younger brother and two dogs. The actress speaks both the languages and also follows both the tradition. She is a Commerce (accountancy honors) graduate. She then completed went on to complete her Jewellery designing and development course from NIFT, New Delhi and worked as a jewellery designer in GILI, MIDC Mumbai. She has learned classical music (bhatkhande) till visharad part I. She also learned Bharatnatyam from Kalakshetra (Chennai). She has won a lot of dance competitions. She was one of the top 100 contestants in Dance India Dance Season 2. She started acting career while she was in 6th standard. Then after a long break she participated in a one act drama competition, followed by lots of plays and theatres in Assam. She has won best actress and 2nd best actress in a one act play ""Maya"". In Mumbai while working with Gili as a jewellery designer she got a call from Shakuntalam Telefilms for their upcoming show Kudesan. However, the show got scrapped after which she bagged a parallel role in Preeto.
