MUMBAI: Mirzapur Season 1 starred Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur, Divyendu Sharma, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.
The series was primarily shot in Mirzapur, with some shots in Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Ghazipur, Lucknow, and Gorakhpur. It revolves around drugs, guns, and lawlessness. It depicts the putrescence, governance, and rule of mafia dons and the rivalry and crime prevailing in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh.
Ever since season 1 aired in 2018, the series became super hit overnight, and the characters became very famous. The series was very well appreciated by the audience and reviewers (online).
Since season 2 was announced, the hype around it is much higher, and the audience is very excited to know what will happen next. Here are a few reasons it is the most anticipated series of the year.
· Kaleen Bhaiya – The lead character and villain, Kaleen Bhaiya was played by Pankaj Tripathi and was very well accepted by the viewers. He had a great impact on the show. It will be great to see him back creating the same magic.
· Guddu’s revenge from Munna – The climax of season 1 left every stunned, as Munna killed Guddu’s wife and brother. Now, it will be so exciting to know how Guddu will take his revenge against Munna.
· Sharad to take revenge from Guddu – In season 1, we saw how Guddu killed Sharad’s father. Now, Guddu will be under threat from Sharad (Anjum Sharma) as he will seek for his revenge for his father.
· Story and screenplay twists - Mirzapur Season 1 is known for its fast-paced story, strong screenplay, and amazing storyline which kept the audience on the eedge of their seats. The same thing is expected from season 2.
· Action sequences - The action that was designed in season 1 was completely desi and raw, which was loved by the audience, especially the gunfights between the gangs. This creates major excitement with regard to the upcoming season as well.
The text in the trailer reads, 'In season one we heard Sitar, Peepni, Tabla. In season two, Bajega Pura Band.'
Akhtar confirmed that Mirzapur Season 2 has not started filming, so a trailer will not be released until filming has ended and much closer to the series release date.
