MUMBAI: The actor speaks on what next and how he chooses his work and what is there for us to look forward to when it comes to his next.

1. How did you get into this profession? Was it always something you knew you would do ?

Interesting story, back in 11th grade, I with a bunch of friends signed for this short film competition where we had to make a film on the importance of education, so we did the entire thing from scripting, to story boarding, casting editing EVERYTHING. And I just fell in love with that process. So that was the moment I knew this is what I want to do. Then I with my best friend opened this youtube channel and decided to make skits, which we never released cause I realised that even though I find this fun, I need to train my acting skills otherwise I will not be doing justice to this. Then went on to join my theatre group Rangakarmee where I got my training. So that's how I got into this.

2. If not an actor then what would you have been ?

An Athelete. As a kid all I would ever do is play every kind of sport any chance or time I got, most of my time was spent playing either football or cricket. So most likely would have been either a cricketer or footballer.

3. Do you think it is difficult to make it in the industry without a god father ?

It depends on how an actor defines "make it" if you want that traditional hero path, then it's not that you need a godfather per se, but it's a different hustle and not worth it in this day and age honestly. But if you want to become an "actor" actor then you definitely don't need a godfather all that takes is good acting skills, basic communication skills and a fire to just keep at it, most importantly be consistent and to make this distinction early on that never just rely on your passion for your sustenance. Act to fill up the heart and do something else to fill up the stomach.

4. What is a complete No when it comes to acting and what are the things you wont do ever?

I don't believe that there is such a thing which is a complete no when it comes to acting, cause an actor's job is to be a vessel, an actor becomes what the filmmaker wants it to be, Though there are certain characters which are used to propel a certain ideology or are treated as a certain catalyst to add a flair in the film. I most certainly won't do those characters cause those are written more with the intention of duping the audience rather than an actual character which is important in the world of that story.
There are a few things set in the timeline.. moreover looking to expand my foyer as I would love to collaborate more and more with filmmakers with a knack for putting those stories on screen which not just entertain us but also make us think, and when we walk out of the theatre or turn off the TV after watching it, it stays with us and lingers in the subconscious, change the way we see the world. Like recently series like Black Warrant and Shekhar Homes have done that. Just like in my first project I would again love to collaborate with BBC studios again cause the kind of stories they invest in are things which I really love and those stories are unique, presents you with character which really challenge actors to push the limits of their skills. And as I always say it's just the beginning of my time here, so baby steps..
