MUMBAI: Amruta Subhash has impressed one and all with her performances in many films and web series. In 2021, she starred in a movie titled Dhamaka which also featured Kartik Aaryan and Mrunal Thakur.
During a Round Table interaction with TellyChakkar, Amruta Subhash revealed that it was difficult for her to justify the character that she was playing in Dhamaka.
The actress stated, “For me, Dhamaka was very difficult because I didn’t know that mindset at all. I had no idea about the mind being this shrewd. Obviously, I thought I was not like her, so I was doing a bit loud, and Ram Madhvani sir was like, ‘no, calm down, she can’t be loud’. Even if someone is dying, she is like, 'TRP aaraha hai'; her focus is if TRP is coming or not. After watching the whole film, I understood what she was. I just followed what he said. He told me ‘aawaz neeche, even the eyebrow won’t go up’.”
“In Sacred Games 2, I had a similar role, but she was doing it for the country and I can relate to that. But, here (in Dhamaka), people are dying and my character is thinking about promotion. This kind of mindset I was not able to imagine. She is telling him (Kartik Aaryan’s character) that if I was in your place I would do it; let people die, it’s TRP, and you will get a promotion and prime time seat. So, for her, these are her values, and I learnt that you cannot get your morality in between the character’s morality. But, it was difficult,” she added.
Last year, Amruta Subhash was seen in the web series Saas Bahu Achaar Pvt. Ltd, and the actress also revealed why it was difficult for her to portray that character as well.
She said, “For Saas Bahu Achaar Pvt. Ltd., what was most difficult for me was the scene where I had to hit. I am very scared of hitting someone; even if I have to hit a child, I get scared and there are many retakes. There was a scene where I had to hit myself and I didn’t want to do it theatrically. I told my director that I have never done such a scene but he took me through it. So, I give full credit to my director.”
