MUMBAI: The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) has unveiled its nominations for the Best Series category. From Anubhav Sinha's IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, a gripping six-episode series that delves into the harrowing 1999 hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814 to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi which went on to become a global phenomenon.
Joining in the nominations is TVF's Panchayat, a series that offers a humorous yet poignant look at rural Indian life through the eyes of an engineering graduate who becomes a village secretary. The show has been praised for its authentic portrayal of village dynamics and endearing characters.
Other notable nominees include Mumbai Diaries (Season 2), which provides a dramatic insight into the lives of medical professionals in a bustling city hospital, and Guns & Gulaabs, a quirky crime thriller set in the 1990s that blends humor with suspense.
The winners will be announced at the 25th IIFA Awards ceremony, scheduled to take place in Jaipur, Rajasthan, from March 7 to March 9, 2025.
