Helmed by Zoya, The Archies was released on Netflix on December 7th last year. The story follows the life of popular fictional characters – Archie (Agastya), Betty (Khushi), Veronica (Suhana), Jughead (Mihir Ahuja), Reggie (Vedang Raina), Ethel (Dot) and Dilton (Yuvraj Menda).
They navigate romance and friendship in the 1960s as they come together for the future of their town, Riverdale, when developers threaten todestroy a beloved park.
The Gang of Archies was the talk of the town before and after the movie was released. The team promoted the movie strongly and they were appreciated for their style statement and the energy that they carried to promote their movie.
However, the movie did not do as well as expected and there was not so much buzz around it. After the release of the movie, there were a lot of posts going around on social media where people were expressing how Khushi Kapoor and Suhana Khan’s performances were not up to the mark given the background they come from as Suhana is Shahrukh Khan’s daughter and Khushi Kapoor is Sri Devi’s daughter and Janhvi Kapoor’s sister.
We heard in the interview why Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti wanted to make this movie but the question remains, was this the right movie for Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor to make their debut given the kind of responses the movie has received?

There were scenes in which Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor had opportunities to make an impact, but unfortunately, the audience did not feel a strong connection. Following the movie, numerous memes surfaced, with the actresses being criticized for their perceived lack of expressive performances, with some even claiming they showed minimal or no expressions at all.
