MUMBAI: In a surprising turn of events, Bigg Boss OTT Season 4 has officially been shelved for the year, leaving fans of the digital spin-off disappointed but intrigued by the reasoning behind the decision. The makers have opted to place their full focus on Bigg Boss Season 19, which is now set for a record-breaking extended run.
Bigg Boss OTT: A Digital Success Story
Since its launch in 2021, Bigg Boss OTT has carved out a unique identity, offering viewers a bolder, more unfiltered version of the traditional reality show. Initially streamed on Voot and later on JioHotstar, the OTT edition quickly built a loyal fanbase thanks to its round-the-clock access, unedited drama, and fast-paced format.
The third season saw Bollywood veteran Anil Kapoor stepping in as host. Although it didn’t achieve the viral frenzy of its predecessor, the season still delivered strong numbers and notable highlights. Sana Makbul, known for her sharp gameplay and commanding presence, emerged as the winner, receiving widespread acclaim for her performance.

Makers Pull the Plug on Season 4
According to exclusive reports from TellyChakkar, the makers have made the strategic decision to cancel Bigg Boss OTT 4 for this year. Instead, resources and attention will be redirected towards Bigg Boss Season 19, which is set to take centre stage with its longest-ever run, spanning approximately five and a half months.
As previously reported, the main season will kick off in July 2025 and will conclude in January 2026. This extended format marks a significant shift in programming strategy, as producers aim to deliver a high-impact, non-stop season packed with drama, emotion, and entertainment.
Fans React to the Decision
While the announcement has disappointed many loyal followers of the OTT format, there’s also considerable excitement around the expanded main season, which promises more housemates, more twists, and more time to indulge in the drama that Bigg Boss is famous for.
The digital edition had developed a distinct identity with its fast-paced storytelling and interactive elements, but the allure of an extended Bigg Boss Season 19 seems poised to more than make up for its absence.
What’s next for the Franchise?
This move is being seen as part of a larger strategy to consolidate the brand and focus on delivering one blockbuster season with maximum impact. With Salman Khan returning as host and the casting process already underway, anticipation is building rapidly.
So while fans may have to wait a little longer for their next OTT fix, they can rest assured that Bigg Boss isn’t going anywhere — it’s just going bigger.
Let the countdown to the most ambitious season yet begin!
