MUMBAI: Shamita Shetty surprised everyone by entering the house of Bigg Boss OTT when her family was going through troubled times. 

Not just this, she has also opened up about her personal life on the show, which she has never done before. 

More recently, the actress has spoken about her first boyfriend who died in a car accident and also the way she was treated in some of her relationships. Here's taking a look at some of her revelations:

1. While the actress has been quite private about her relationships, she told Neha Bhasin, her good friend in the house, how she lost her boyfriend in a car accident. She recalled some of her most precious memories with him and also shared how his passing away led her to be so sensitive.

2. Talking to Raqesh Bapat, Shamita said, "I have always been comfortable in my space alone and I've been very strong. But when lockdown happened that broke me. It was very lonely for me. I wanted to be with someone.".

3. Continuing her conversation with him, she said, "At my age now, if I allow somebody into my heart, it will be for keeps. It will be for marriage, babies. That's the reason I've been single. It's not like I did not have choices in life in the outside world. Had I been 22-24 I would have gone with the flow. I would have been the carefree child that I used to be. I didn't give a damn about the future. I would jump into things, get out of it easily, but I don't live my life like that anymore.".

4. Shamita shared on the show that post-her father's demise, a lot of responsibilities fell on her shoulders. She said, "I took over a lot of stuff. If I had to go for a fling, I would have many options in the outside world.".

5. During one of her fights with Raqesh, Shamita talked about her relationships and said, "All the relationships that I had been in, none of the men made me feel good about myself. I have gone into self-preservation mode to protect myself.".

6. On the show, Shamita admitted that she has always been referred to as Shilpa's sister in the industry and how she is now trying to show people who she really is. She said, "I have had a very difficult journey of 20-25 years in the industry, I am more confident as a person now. People know me as Shamita Shetty, Shilpa’s sister. It’s a protective shadow. I am lucky to have that, but people don’t know the real me.".

7. Shamita instantly formed a bond with her 'connection' Raqesh Bapat on the show, and called him lovely, too. She admitted she likes him but she wants someone who defends her and is not confused.
