MUMBAI: In a new update from Bigg Boss OTT, after a heated argument, Akshara Singh made a remark about co-contestant Shamita Shetty’s age.
Akshara asked Shamita that she should keep her ‘hi-fi’ attitude to herself after telling her that Shamita is about the same age as her mother.
In a conversation with Urfi Javed, Akshara allegedly referred to Shamita Shetty as 'maasi' (aunty). She was also surprised to learn that Shamita is in her early 40s, given how long she’s been working. She said that the word ‘maasi’ perfectly describes her and the two laughed.
Urfi said, “Apne season mein toh haar ke hi gayi na, kya kar liya (she couldn’t do anything in her season).”
Shamita had previously appeared on Bigg Boss 3 but had to leave early to attend her sister Shilpa Shetty‘s wedding.
In Bigg Boss OTT, Shamita had previously taken offence to Akshara questioning her about her dietary restrictions. Shamita had asked the other contestants not to consume the gluten-free products that had been sent in exclusively for her and Neha Bhasin.
Akshara mocked Shamita and accused her of having starry airs. She said, “Chaar line English ka bol liya toh apne aap ko hi-fi samajhne lagi… yahan par Hindi bolna chahiye English bolne ka koi kaam nahi hai… (She thinks she’s better than everyone else just because she can speak English. There’s no place for English here. We are supposed to speak in Hindi).”.
Shamita had previously been involved in a heated argument with Pratik Sehajpal and had accused Nishant Bhatt of crossing the line with her once.
