TellyChakkar got in touch with the director and asked him if he keeps Salman Khan in mind while he constructs the house and whether he would survive in the show if he were a contestant.
How challenging as it been to construct the house?
We have been constructing the Bigg Boss house every year, but this time, the brief was different and challenging. Since it was the OTT version, we had to construct a house that would connect with the youngsters. They are the ones who are going to consume mostly. I though of climate and environment and implemented the same into the house.
Later, I came up with the concept of recycling things and everyone loved it. I have used everything, even the smallest scarp that I could find to use it on the sets. So, whatever waste I could find, I built sculptures and used it on the sets of the show. That’s how we did the house.
How much time did it take to construct the house?
To construct, it hardly took half an hour. But, finding scraps from different dustbins and getting enough stuff to work on became a huge process. It took 45 – 50 days to complete.
Which season of Bigg Boss did you feel had the best house constructed?
The jungle and circus house stood out a lot and with the recycle theme this time, it should set out as well until the next season.
When you contract the house do you keep Salman Khan the host in mind since he brings a personality to the show?
Salman Khan fits his personality on any sets of the show, whether its jungle or the circus. He brings his personality into it. His set is also constructed with the same scrap materials and as usual, he'll fit just fine, because he is Salman Khan.
If you were a contestant in the show, do you think you would survive the game?
I think I can survive easily as I am very patient and calm. I won’t do it, but I can survive easily in the show.
Well, there is no doubt that Omung Kumar is one of the best set designers in our country and every house he constructed has stood out.
