MUMBAI: This time, ZEE5 is collaborating with National Award winning director Prakash Jha to bring a new original film titled ‘Pareeksha – The Final Test’. The Priyanka Bose, Adil Hussain, Sanjay Suri, and Shubham Jha starrer film had its India premier last year at the 50th International Film Festival of India.
The central theme of the movie is the traditional education system of India and takes inspiration from real life experience of IPS officer Abhyanand, former DGP of Bihar. Following the idea that good education is the greatest social leveller, while serving as the police chief in Bihar’s Naxal infested areas, Abhyanand began coaching kids in the village to crack IIT-JEE exams.

The story follows a poor rickshaw puller, Buchhi, who loved taking children from affluent families to an elite school every morning and how he dreamt of giving his own child the same opportunity.
The director said in a statement, “Their success had a great impact in the crime infested badlands of Bihar and made a difference. I felt compelled to tell this story and we have found a wonderful streaming partner in ZEE5, a platform which will give this subject the reach it deserves."
Prakash Jha’s last work was ‘Jai Gangaajal’ in 2016 starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas as a cop. Jha is debuting in acting with this movie after having spent over three decades in the industry and directing critically acclaimed films like Damul, Mrityudand, Apaharan, and Rajneeti. No premier date has yet been announced for the film.
