MUMBAI: Talented actress Nivedita Bhattacharya has been roped in for Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's upcoming web show titled Dongri To Dubai.
Nivedita Bhattacharya is a known face on television and has played negative roles in shows such as Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar and Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai. She was recently seen in the film Shaadisthan.
Interestingly, the series also stars Nivedita’s husband and actor Kay Kay Menon.
Dongri To Dubai will chronicle the life of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and adapted from Hussain Zaidi’s book Dongri to Dubai: Six Decades of the Mumbai Mafia.
Featuring Avinash Tiwary, Jitin Gulati, Amyra Dastur, and Kritika Kamra and directed by Shujaat Saudagar of Rock On 2 fame. The show went on floor just before the pandemic wreaked havoc. In mid-May 2020 the show’s set at Madh island Mumbai was demolished as it was unused during the lockdown period. However, the shooting resumed sometime back.
Dongri To Dubai will have a ten-episode season one and it will most likely get launched on Netflix.
