MUMBAI: After the success of season 1, which had R. Madhvan and Amit Sadh in the lead roles, Breathe is back with season 2. Breathe Into the Shadows stars Abhishek Bachchan, who makes his digital debut with this series, Amit Sadh, and Nithya Menen.
The series is divided into 12 episodes, with each episode lasting 40 to 45 minutes each. It is directed by Mayank Sharma.
The series narrates the story of happy family comprising psychiatrist Avinash Sabharwal, played by Abhishek Bacchan; chef wife Abha Sabharwal, played by Nithya Menen; and their daughter Siya, played by Ivana Kaur. Their lives change when Siya gets kidnapped by a mysterious masked man. The couple is ready to do anything to get Siya back.
Amit Sadh reprises his role of Inspector Kabir Sawant and is on a mission to find out the mystery behind the random killings in the state.
What connection these killings have with the couple and who the mysterious man is form the crux of the story.
The screenplay is gripping and manages to grab your attention from the very first scene. It takes you on a rollercoaster ride of chills and thrills. It does become a little slow midway, but the performances of the lead actors do not let your attention wander. The direction is decent, and the sequences are well designed.
The background music of the series is amazing and plays an important part in crafting the suspense, specifically in the scenes involving the masked man.

Talking about the performances, with his digital debut, Junior Bachchan has proved his talent again. The actor is amazing, and it would not be wrong to say that he has carried the entire series on his shoulders. Mission Mangal fame Nithya Menen has also done a decent job as a chef, loving wife, and caring daughter. Amit Sadh has delivered a strong performance. It is good to see Junior Bachchan and Amit Sadh in a single frame. You will fall in love with little Siya, played by the beautiful Ivana Kaur, who has done full justice to her role. Other cast members like Resham Shrivardhan, Hrishikesh Joshi, Shrikant Verma, Plabita Borthakur, and Saiyami Kher have also delivered good performances.
The positives of the series are Abhishek Bachchan and his amazing performance. He grabs your attention whenever he comes on screen. The screenplay is also strong. Ivana Kaur and her acting also make it a must watch. The twists and turns in the series are unexpected and keep you glued to the screen.
In terms of negatives, the series is too long. The 12-episode series with each episode lasting 45 minutes could have been better edited, but the performances of the leads come to your rescue. Moreover, we see very little of the talented Saiyami Kher.
Overall, this thriller is completely worth your time and can be binge-watched with your family.
