MUMBAI : In the recent times, we have watched many ‘Army’ series like Commander Saxena, The Forgotten Army, The Test Case, Special Ops, Commando, etc. However, there’s one show that we cannot ignore is Fauji. The 1988 series where SRK made his debut. The show released long ago but still continues to become a part of many conversations. Now the makers of JioCinema series ‘Cadet’ have not hid their intentions that the series really reminds you of the 1988 series.

Jumping into the show, we see four friends who meet at the prestigious National Defence Academy and form a never-ending bond of companionship. Like a lot of movies and series, this one too is set in past, specifically in 1997. The show starts with four boys and ends with them evolving into men and the journey is real roller-coaster ride for us all.

You know those people from Army who sit with us and tell us about their ‘kisse’? Well, the show is a collection of all that which promises a lot of fun and with every passing episode, you see the stories evolving into something bigger along with the our favorite 4 lead characters – Manoj (played by Tanay Chheda), Randhir (played by Chayan Chopra), Neeraj (played by Gautam Singh) and Albert (Tushar Shahi), learning their well-deserved lessons and transforming into Army men that we look upto for our country’s protection.

The series is Produced by Ajit Andhare and Tipping Point, with Anand Tiwari as the Executive Producer, and directed by Vishwajoy Mukherjee. The makers have done a great a good job bringing something so entertaining and if we forget the fact that this was set in 1997, we won’t notice some errors. Writers Adhaar Khurana and Siddharth Kumar have done a good job giving us some light and some heavy moments from the life of Army men.

This 8-episode series will really get a good grip on you and will become a perfect weekend-watch for sure.

All-in-all, the show is a good entertainment with some questionable moments but it all gets covered up with some fun moments, everything packed in a 30-min episodes which is like a perfect duration.

Team Tellychakkar gives this series 3/5.
