MUMBAI :Anjali Sivaraman is currently busy garnering praises for her performance in Class which started streaming on Netflix a few days ago. The web series is an adaptation of Spanish series Elite and also stars Gurfateh Pirzada and Piyush Khati in the lead roles.

TellyChakkar recently interacted with Anjali and spoke to her about the response she is getting for Class, being called the lookalike of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and more...

What response are you getting for your performance in Class?

Honestly, the response is a little overwhelming. When I completed the project, I left it feeling generally pleased with the way it had all gone down. I had no idea what to expect, but then once it came out, there was an overwhelming amount of love showered on me and the rest of the cast. So, it has been almost like a dream.

Class is an adaptation of Elite, so did you see Elite before signing the show or did you see it after coming on board for it?

I had heard of the series before I signed on and after I signed it I watched a few episodes, but later I thought that maybe I shouldn’t because I wanted to have my own idea of what Suhani would be like.

On social media, people are calling you the lookalike of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. So, what was your reaction when you read that for the first time, and do you feel the pressure of being compared to her?

While growing up my family used to call me junior Aishu (laughs), so I have never known how to react to it. She is very beautiful, so I feel flattered. Maybe, there is a little bit of pressure in the sense that I don’t want my career to be compared to her career, like looks is one thing but career is a separate thing. I am hoping that my own hard work and effort will translate into not being compared to anyone else.

Before Class, Anjali had impressed one and all with her performance in the movie Cobalt Blue which was also released on Netflix.
