MUMBAI: Elvish Yadav made headlines as he emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss OTT Season 2, where he won Rs. 25 Lakhs and took the trophy home. He has created history as until today, no wild–card contestant has won any season of Bigg Boss. He broke the stereotype of a non–wild card winning the show.
When Elvish Yadav defeated Sagar Thakur, a.k.a. Maxtern, a fellow YouTuber, in Gurugram, he courted criticism. They filed a formal complaint against the Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner after the video of their altercation inside a shop went viral. But after a few days, they got over their argument and were spotted hanging out. The case's verdict has now been released. The FIR against Yadav has been overturned by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Justice Anoop Chitkara said, “The FIR portrays that the motive for violence was some dispute regarding popularity and content creation in which allegations were leveled against Elvish Yadav and his accomplices.”
He further said, “To ensure similar violent acts are not repeated in the future, that impressionable followers do not get influenced of the misdemeanour exhibited by the accused persons and that the accused are not under the mistaken belief that such instances are taken lightly by the legal system, this court proposes to quash the FIR in question but with imposition of certain condition.”
The court added, “Such actual use of violence in a society cannot be accepted and needs to be condemned. Media influencers with a considerable audience must be sensitized to the message they impart through their actions to their susceptible followers and exhibit socially responsible behavior.”
A widely shared video purportedly showed Elvish breaking into a store and assaulting YouTuber Maxtern. The men that defeated the complaint were with the Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner. Elvish was seen on camera kicking and slapping Thakur as soon as he entered the store.

He was seen going into great detail about the incident in another video. He also discussed the charges he filed with the police department.
The two got back together not long after the incident. Maxtern even made an appearance in the song video for the Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner. A lot of people even claimed that the brawl was a marketing gimmick to promote the song.
