Akanksha is currently seen in the OTT series Inspector Avinash which is directed by Neeraj Pathak and it stars Randeep Hooda in the titular role.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with Akanksha Puri and spoke to her about the response she is getting for her performance, preparation she did to play her role and more...
What response are you getting for your performance in Inspector Avinash?
I am getting an amazing response. In fact, the entire series is getting very good response; it’s been hardly six days and still like we are all over. The poster that I posted has gone viral, and people are reposting it. So, I am very happy that people are liking the character, Meetu Punjaban. It feels good when your work gets such recognition.

Was it an immediate yes from you after hearing the script or you took your time?
Immediate! I think I didn’t even take 5 seconds to say yes after listening to it. So, it was an immediate reaction. When Neeraj ji told me about Meetu, I felt it was a very sweet character and there was something in it for me to do as an artist. So, I immediately said yes to it and I came onboard.
What preparations did you do to play this character?
The character is of a dancer from UP. I have not done a character like this earlier. It’s a character of a dancer and I didn’t want to make it loud because I didn’t want it to look very typical. It’s a real character; these characters are not fiction characters. So, in this I have put in my flavour and kept it subtle. Her relationship with Randeep’s character Avinash is of love, there’s romance between them and she loves him a lot, but she knows that she can’t get him. So, there’s pain in the character.
Inspector Avinash is currently streaming on Jio Cinema.
