MUMBAI: Crash Course is an upcoming web series starring Anu Kapoor, Bhanu Uday, Pranay Pachauri, Bidita Bag, and Udit Arora in lead roles.
The series is about two warring coaching institutes and the consequences of their rivalry on the students who come there to study. A journey of friendship, first love, heartbreak, peer pressure, and the loss of innocence of youth.
The series will be premiering on the 5th of August on Amazon Prime.
TellyChakkar got in touch with Bhanu Uday, who essays the character of Shashank Batra, and asked him why he said ‘yes’ to the project and how his experience was working with Anu Kapoor.
What made you say “Yes” to the project?
The script was amazing and to work with this amazing team was a huge privilege. It was an effortless process and the acting just came out. Lucky to be part of the show and I don’t think anyone can say no to the script.
Tell us something about the character that you play in the series.
I play the character of Shashank Bhatra who is a businessman and how he wants to invest in these coaching classes. When I heard the role I somewhere knew that I knew this character. My grandpa had a coaching class and I saw how he was only business minded when it came to handling the classes. I luckily had to not do any preparation for the role.
How was your experience working with such a senior actor Anu Kapoor?
The experience was wonderful as he made us comfortable so that we don’t get intimidated by his presence and he is such a wonderful and down-to-earth person to know and he knows what he means to me. It was an honour to work with him.
Well, the audience is excited to see Bhanu in the upcoming series as a new character as Shashank Batra.
