MUMBAI:The Night Manager – Part 1 premiered on Disney+ Hotstar a few months ago. Now, the second part of the series will be out on 30th June 2023, and everyone is looking forward to Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur starrer.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with the director of the series, Sandeep Modi, and spoke to him about his experience of directing Anil Kapoor, his upcoming projects, and more…
Anil Kapoor is a veteran actor, so how was your experience of directing him?
Of course, it was excellent and we had a great time. He is a terrific actor and a more terrific human being. He is like an elder brother to me; he hates anyone calling him more than an elder brother. He is very young mentally, emotionally, and physically. He cares about every single person on the set and that’s what I really admire about him.
After the series started streaming, on social media people started calling Aditya a ‘thirst trap’. So, was it a plan to present him in such a way?
It is not an accentual thing. Everything in the show has been done through design and effort. The idea was that here’s a good-looking man who Shelly’s world can’t help but be attracted to; this was a part of the character brief. Shelly is attracted by his wises, but BJ, Kaveri, and everyone else are also very equally attracted by his physical charm.
Are you currently working on any other projects?
There are a few things in the pipeline. There’s a film with Karan Johar and Dharma Productions that I am actively working on and extremely excited about. It’s a unique story and it will give me a lot of joy when it will hit the floors.
