MUMBAI: "Dhappa" is directed by Anil V Kumar and Saket Yadav. It will also feature actors like Sheela Sharma, Prithvi Sankhala, Shahab Khan, Rajesh Khera, Charu Mehra, Rudra Kaushik, Priya Pandey, Narendra Gupta, Neha Bamb and Nitin Vakharia in pivotal roles.

Actors Monalisa and Jay Bhanushali will soon be seen in the anthology series titled "Dhappa". As the series explores the lives of five couples, the actors talk about their part in this 'modern take on love'.
We got in touch with the charming Jay Bhanushali and asked him about his return to screens as an actor, his bond with Smriti Khanna and more. Check out what he had to reveal:
We are finally seeing you act in a web show so how difficult it has been to come back after a long waiting period?
It has been great that I have got an opportunity to showcase my acting talent. I am already getting a lot of messages regarding my show. I am very happy that people are liking the show. It is a very light-hearted show and I really enjoyed shooting for it as this is my first love. Acting will always be my first love as when I entered television or when I started my career, acting was my dream and I wanted to become a successful actor. In fact, I am working with the first director who took my shot when I stepped into the industry – Anil V Kumar. He was the one who taught me a lot of things regarding acting and how to present yourself. I have great respect for that man and would give credit as right in the first eight months of my show back then, he made me a star with Qayamat. So I had to do this show and when I got a call from him I was pretty sure that I am going to give my nod. For formality, I heard the concept of the show but I was sure I would do this show.
Tell us something about your character in the show.
In anchoring, I am usually myself wearing pretty good clothes and presenting myself in a decent manner but here I am doing something very opposite to my personality. I play a small-town boy who falls in love with a girl. It is a common man’s love story. I always wanted to do a story that is based on Meerut or Agra of how they go to another city to meet each other. It is a very cute love story. It was fun shooting with her.
How was your bonding with the other actors?
Every character has a different story and moves forward and we did not get to shoot with each other. Shooting with Smriti has been fantastic. My wife and Smriti have been friends and over time off camera, we used to talk about our respective babies and how we are handling them.
