Exclusive! I have always been a fan of Shah Rukh Khan: Madhura Dasgupta on actors who have inspired her

MUMBAI: Actress Madhura Dasgupta will be seen in the upcoming web series Mombian – Gul & Sakshi Ki Pyaaari Si Love Story. The actress exclusively speaks to the team of Tellychakkar.com, where she talks about the web series and her character in it. She also speaks about her struggle and the actors who have inspired her.

Tell us about the web series and your character?

The web series is about two girls who want a baby. How their journey moves ahead, their struggles, and their fights with society. Well, I am playing the character of Nisha, who is the best friend of the lead character Sakshi.  

What kind of character you are looking forward to?

I really don’t have any particular choice of characters which I wanted to play. Any strong character or any main lead can do. I am also okay playing the negative as well. There is nothing particular I want to play but I am open to everything as long as it satisfies me.

What was your struggle like?

I am from Kolkata, I started my career as a model, where I used to walk the ramp for fashion shows. So have done a lot of ramp walks. After coming to Mumbai, I started as a print model, and side by side I also used to auditions for Television ads and digital commercials. Initially, I thought I was not good at acting, but then I did a workshop on acting, also I some an acting course for some time. When I  gain confidence that yes I can act now.  Then I started giving auditions for television shows and series. And luckily I landed up into this project.    

Tell us about the actors who have inspired you?

There are so many actors who have inspired me, I can’t really name one. But Radhika Apte is one of my favorite actresses and also I have always been a fan of Shah Rukh Khan. Other than these two actors, there are so many actors who are good at their craft and to whom I look up to. Everyone has something to contribute through their acting.
