MUMBAI: Actor Parambrata Chatterjee in this exclusive interview with Tellychakkar.com talks about his upcoming web series Mithya. He speaks about the scripts which attract him the most, his take on OTT platforms. He also talks about the directors and actors with whom he wants to work in the future.
You are a director as well, did it ever come to your mind that a certain scene has not come out as it was planned, do you go and talk to your director about it?
During the shoot, if I think something has not been executed properly then I definitely go and tell to the director about it. It also depends upon the director and also on the atmosphere that I am in. In some projects, the atmosphere is not like I can go and give my input. Fortunately, in many sets, I try to give inputs. According to me, filmmaking is a collaborative art. No one person can prove it right. it's like people coming together and making a film. Of course, I do go and tell the director if I feel so.
What types of scripts attract you the most?
Talking about the films I like coming of age films, a slice of life films, and also dramas. I like more coming-of-age dramas especially. If you talk about web series then I will say I like the thrillers more.
What's your take on OTT platforms?
OTT platforms have brought in opportunities for everyone. From the basic technicians to the directors to the storytellers and of course actors as well. People are getting opportunities to work in all kinds of stories. Through series, every character has to be given their space and because of that characters are getting more flesh and blood. And the writing has been more in detail as well. So, OTT has been the biggest game-changer in the last 10 years in the audio-visual industry.
Tell us, about the directors and actors you wish to work with?
There are lots of directors with whom I want to work with. Of course, I want to work with Hansal Mehta, Vishal Bhardwaj, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Imtiaz Ali, Nikhil Advani to name a few. At least I can give you the list of 11 – 12 people with whom I want to work. On the other hand, actresses I really want to work with Vidya Balan once again, because I think she is terrific. I will definitely like to work with Alia Bhatt because again she is also a terrific performer.
