meaty and meaningful roles for women

MUMBAI :Aksha Pardasany is known for her performance in OTT series like Jamtara – Sabka Number Ayega and Kathmandu Connection. She will next be seen in Rafuchakkar which also stars Maniesh Paul in the lead role.

TellyChakkar recently interacted with Aksha and spoke to her about her character in the series, experience of working with Maniesh and more...

You play a cop in Rafuchakkar and we have actresses like Tabu, Rani Mukerji, and others who have played a cop in movies earlier. So, were you a bit hesitant that I might get compared to them?

No, I don’t think that I am at that level where people will start comparing me with a Tabu or someone else, and more importantly I don't think anybody should because when I do a performance, I think people should look at me as an individual. I should be true to the portrayal of what I am supposed to do. I don’t think we are aping somebody that would just be wrong because they are loved for what they did and I should be loved for what I did. So, there’s no scope for comparison.

We have known Maniesh to be this person who does a lot of comedy. So, how was the experience of working with him, and how he is on the sets?

He is just exactly the way he is. He is very chill to work with and he is very giving as an actor. It was a wonderful and pleasant experience.

While talking about the OTT space, the actress said...

It is really a nice space to be in right now because OTT is giving opportunities to actors like me who don’t have a backing in the industry and who are really trying to do a good work. It is actually a very safe space for women especially because we are coming up with wonderful, meaty and meaningful roles for women. So, I feel it’s a wonderful space to be in.

Rafuchakkar premieres on Jio Cinema on 15th June 2023.
