MUMBAI: Actress Sanya Malhotra will be next seen in the film Love Hostel. The actress in an exclusive interview with Tellychakkar.com talks about her character, what made her say yes to the project and what does she sees in a character before signing the film.
What made you say yes to the project
I read the script in the middle of the pandemic. It is a refreshing script when I was reading the script I was thinking in my mind that I won't let the film go from my hand, I will definitely do it. I couldn’t keep the script down. Also the fact, Vikrant Massey was doing the film, Shankar sir was directing it, and Red Chillies was producing it. I am glad that I did this film and honored to be part of it.
What do you see before choosing a character?
It’s both ways, sometimes I look for the characters, and sometimes good scripts come to me. But I think these are the characters with whom I get inspired by, get empowered. I think these are the characters that I personally want to see on the screen as an audience. That really raises me as an actor. For some characters, we have to submit it completely. So, I listen to my gut feelings before choosing any character.
How did you prepare for your character in Love Hostel?
What Jyoti is going through emotionally, I have never experienced it. What I can only do is to completely slip into her shoes and live her life. What really helped me to do this character, is my director Shankar, who held my hands throughout the shoot from day one. He is one person who understands human phycology beautifully. So, I decided that I had to surrender completely to him on the sets.
