MUMBAI: Pratik Gandhi in this exclusive interview with TellyChakkar talks about his upcoming web series The Great Indian Murder. The actor speaks about what made him say yes to the project, who his biggest critic is, and the response to the trailer of the web series.
Tell us, what made you say yes to the project.
Of course, the casting of the film and the director Tigmanshu Dhulia are the main reasons I said yes to the project. Other than that, the web series is the adaption of the Six Suspects, which is one of the best sellers of all time. I told Tigmanshu Dhulia sir, I would like to read the novel before I start reading the script of the web series. But he told me not to read the book as I won’t be able to find my character in it. Moreover, this is my second big project, and that also with Tigmanshu Dhulia Sir. What more could I ask for?
Are you the biggest critic of your work?
I critique my work a lot. When I see my previous work, I always find a way of improvement in my acting. According to me, as an actor, we can approach the same character from multiple directions. Other than me, my wife and mother are my biggest critics. My wife will tell me what she likes about my character and what she doesn’t like. On the other hand, my mother will directly say to my face that she didn’t like my work. My brother and a few of my close friends also give me their feedback about my work.
Tell us about the response you have been getting for the trailer.
Well, I am getting an amazing response to the trailer of the web series. The best one that I received was from my wife. After watching the trailer, she walked to me and said that she loved the trailer very much. She said my role is different from all the parts that I have played. So the response has been great till now.
