Soon, a new series is about to be launched on the platform – Hack Crimes Online. The series is a crime thriller which is based on a novel by one of India's most respected cyber-crime investigators, Mr. Amit Dubey. The series features Vipul Gupta and Riddhi Kumar as leads and is directed by Parmeet Sethi.
Tellychakkar got in touch with the actor Vipul Gupta who opened up about his character in the series, the highpoints of the series and much more.
Tell us about your character in the series?
A cop who is desperate to make a difference in the society, trying to mentor a group of hackers and making them into ethical hackers and taking on the hacker per say for the simple reason. His perception is that we won’t be able to solve these crimes with such old methods and that we will have to cut diamond with a diamond. So he’s a go-getter and wants to make a difference.
What made you say 'yes' to the character?
It was the makers, the director and the relevance of the story.
What according to you are the highpoints of the series?
Hacking is a current topic and it very relevant to our life. It’s like how our director Parmeet sir says that we are all exposed, our phone is the biggest asset we have and everything in it is exposed so if someone can hack into it, they have entered our lives. So it’s so relevant that in the current topic we are actually making something that is educating and even entertaining the audience. I think that’s the biggest USP for me.
What are your upcoming projects?
There’s another film which is going to come on another OTT platform. And yes, as we say in our industry, talks are on. So yes, talks are on.
