MUMBAI: Actor Ashish Verma in this exclusive interview with Tellychakkar.com talks about his upcoming web series Unpaused: Naya Safar. The actor speaks about his role, how he prepared for his character, and the experience of working with Saqib Saleem and Sam Mohan.
Tell us about the response you have been receiving for the trailer of Unpaused Naya Safar.
I am getting a very nice response for the trailer of Unpaused: Naya Safar. We have very interesting stories, especially this time when the Covid is still going on. It is almost as we have set for the lockdown with the increase in the cases of Covid's new variant. Same as season 1 this season also deals with the lockdown situation during the time of Covid. Our story especially deals with how three people of different contracting personalities come and co-exist together. So, we are getting very good and warm responses to the trailer.

Tell us about your character.
This is a very different character, which I never played before. He is a very interesting character. In our story, there are three thieves who have stuck in one place. They all have different personalities. My character is an expert in breaking door locks. He is a very foodie and wants nice food to eat every time.
How did you prepare for your role?
Basically, during the workshops and scripting, we came across the aspect which was bothering people very much. We came to know that people were suffering from the shortage of food in lockdown. People who are used to eating outside almost every day face a lot of problems especially when the restaurants and hotels were closed. We tried to touch those aspects with a slight touch of humor in it. At the same time understanding the gravity of the situation and how heavy and tiring it was for everybody.
How was your experience of working with co-stars?
It was a very nice experience working with both Saqib Saleem and Sam. We stayed at a warehouse during the shoot where we used to shoot and rehearse our scenes as well. We spend so much time that practically we were in sync together with each other. So we made a very good give and take relationship. Hopefully, the chemistry which we have achieved during the shoot reaches the audience with this show.
