Gulabo Sitabo actress Srishti Shrivastava was once asked if she was ready to ‘compromise’ for an ad audition

Srishti Shrivastava, who was seen in Amitabh Bachchan-Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Gulabo Sitabo, reveals she was once asked if she would compromise for an ad audition and that she would get scared back then.

MUMBAI: Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Gulabo Sitabo released a few days ago on Amazon Prime, and the viewers have been all praise for the cast of the film and their brilliant performances. Not just the lead roles Mirza and Baankey, played by Big B and Ayushmann respectively, but also the female cast in the film has been really appreciated. Srishti Srivastava, who essayed the role of Guddu in the film, had earlier featured in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. She is popularly known for her role in TVF’s Girliyapa, and had started her career with theatre. While she has come a long way, her experiences weren’t all great.

In a recent interview with The Quint, Srishti opened up about her journey, and how she started her acting career with theatre. “It's a long journey of about 4 and a half years and it started not with Girliyapa, but with theatre,” she said. She also shared how she would feel insecure in the beginning as people who came for ad auditions looked extremely beautiful and she would have insecurity as she was very young at the time. She also recalled an incident where she was told, “you have to look like a model,” and was made to feel bad about it.

If they did, it'll be reported to the police," Srishti said.

Gulabo Sitabo brings Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana on-screen together for the first time, and it has been helmed by Shoojit Sircar and written by Juhi Chaturvedi.
