In an exclusive interview with Aditi Rao Hydari for the release of her new web series, Heeramandi, on Netflix, the actor sincerely confessed how she manifested working with one of Hindi cinema's biggest filmmakers ever after watching his film as a kid.

It was pointed out to the actress how she has worked across all the platforms and was asked if she ever thinks about the platforms of the project before accepting them. Aditi Rao Hydari gave an interesting reply where she also talked about how she manifested working with directors like Mani Ratnam and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Aditi Rao Hydari said, “Actually mujhe sach mein ye khayal kabhi nahi aaya. Even when I started and I’m so glad that I didn’t have that much knowledge because mere liye film ek kahani hai jo ek incredible director banate hai and if I feel something and if I go home with that same feeling then I love that film so to me a film makes you feel and feelings don’t have any boundaries. So I’ve always looked at films like that. Jab main choti thi I always wanted to be a Mani Ratnam heroine. That was my clear, one-point agenda. Pehle Mani sir (Mani Ratnam) in fact fir Sanjay sir (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) ki maine Khamoshi… Pehle maine Bombay dekhi phir Khamoshi dekhi phir Rituparno Ghosh ki film dekhi. Rituparno Ghosh is of course not with us anymore but yeah I’ve worked with both Sanjay sir and Mani sir and thank god they have picked me, I’m so grateful for it but at that time, one primarily directs in Tamil, one in Behgali and of course sir (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) in Hindi. Mujhe laga bhi nahi ke these are different languages. Also I am from a very culturally mixed background. I am an Indian film actor, what Indian, I’m an actor so even Spain se koi mujhe agar koi bolega, if I like the director, if I love the story and I like what I’m doing, I will do it. I truly feel that and I’m so happy that I always felt that because I didn’t think twice about it and I’ll never think twice about it and I feel so lucky to have worked with some incredible film makers.”
