The Society

MUMBAI: JioHotstar is set to launch an exciting new reality show titled The Society under the Sparks umbrella, premiering on July 21. Hosted by popular comedian Munawar Faruqui, and co-hosted by Shreya Kalra, the show promises a unique social experiment that mirrors real-world class dynamics in a bold, immersive format.

The Society brings together 25 contestants who will compete in a high-stakes game that spans over 200 hours of gripping content. Inside the show’s house, contestants are divided into three distinct social classes (Royals, Regulars, and Rags) each representing a different level of power and privilege. While the game begins with this hierarchy in place, every contestant is united by a single ambition: to climb to the top and earn the coveted title of Asli Baazigar.

As the game progresses, the Royals live in comfort and luxury, the Regulars find themselves caught in the middle with limited resources, while the Rags must battle hardship and fight their way up the social ladder. Strategy, adaptability, and resilience are essential, as shifting power dynamics continuously redefine the playing field. In The Society, survival depends not just on strength, but on the ability to navigate a world that reflects real social tensions.

At the heart of the show is Munawar Faruqui, whose unfiltered humor and compelling life journey make him more than just a host. His story from hardship to fame resonates deeply with the show’s themes, making The Society not just another reality show, but a powerful reflection of society itself.

Speaking about the show, Munawar shared, “The Society isn’t just a game; it’s a mirror to the world outside. This show features a house where contestants are tagged as Royals, Regulars, and Rags, each with their own highs and hardships. But just like real life, those tags can flip at any time. This show is raw and real. It tests how far you're willing to go to protect your dignity and claim your place. Power shifts, loyalties break, and fear creeps in — but what matters is how you play the game. Because in society, dikhta kuch aur hai, hota kuch aur. The safest bet is never giving up and fighting till the end.”

Watch the trailer now and get a glimpse into the vault, the divides and the high-pressure game that awaits!
