Kaagaz review: Strong performances and superb storytelling make it worthwhile

ZEE5’s Kaagaz starring Pankaj Tripathi and Satish Kaushik has finally premiered today, and here is the complete review of the movie.

MUMBAI: ZEE5 is back again with another offering, and this time, it is a movie that is high on content. Titled “Kaagaz”, this 109-minute movie features amazing talent like Pankaj Tripathi, Monal Gajjar, and Satish Kaushik. It is directed by Satish Kaushik himself. The trailer promised great content, and fans were eagerly waiting for the movie. Well, guess what? You will get to see what you were promised.

The story is about a common man whose name is Bharat Lal, a bandmaster who is living a peaceful life with his family until he comes to know that he has been declared dead on the papers. Soon, everyone around him starts behaving abnormally with him, and Bharat Lal goes on a journey to prove himself alive on papers. How he goes that and what hardships he has to face form the story of Kaagaz.

The concept is unique and grabs the attention of viewers. The screenplay of the movie is very well written and you will not get bored at all. The direction by actor-director Satish Kaushik is decent, and the storytelling is effective.

Talking about the performances, it is definitely the highlight of the movie. Every actor has lived their character like it was designed for them. The hero of the movie Bharat Lal, played by Pankaj Tripathi, is the USP, and the actor has delivered one of his best. On the other hand Monal Gajjar as Bharat’s wife and support system was good. As lawyer Kewat, actor Satish Kaushik also wins hearts.

The positive points of the movie are mainly the subject and the tragic comedy genre, which will definitely grab the attention of the audience. The performances are also a plus point, especially that of Pankaj Tripathi.

The negative point is that at a few points, the screenplay looks a bit loose, but the performances will not allow you to get bored. Moreover, an unnecessary item song is included.

Overall, Kaagaz is completely worth your time and is a family entertainer.

Team TellyChakkar goes with 3.5 stars for Kaagaz.
