Hot off the heels of his packed schedule — from juggling multiple projects to gearing up for the release of Special Ops Season 2 — Karan’s presence in Anupam Kher’s moving directorial venture is set to win hearts. Just days ago, Karan’s birthday was made extra special with the unveiling of his striking first look as Captain Samarth, a moment that made waves across social media.
Now, with the trailer out, audiences get a glimpse of Karan slipping into the role of a soldier and a father — a man whose legacy, love, and sacrifice echo through the film’s emotional core. The trailer teases Tanvi’s extraordinary journey to Siachen, an inspiring tale of resilience and patriotism intertwined with the sensitive portrayal of autism — a theme rarely explored with such nuance on Indian screens.
In Tanvi The Great, Karan plays Captain Samarth Raina, Tanvi’s late father, whose unfulfilled dream becomes the heartbeat of her mission. His character’s layered presence in flashbacks and Tanvi’s memories tugs at heartstrings, hinting at a performance that is both restrained and impactful.
Earlier this year, Karan made headlines when he joined the film’s team at the prestigious Cannes 2025 screening, where Tanvi The Great earned a standing ovation for its heartfelt narrative and soul-stirring performances.
Speaking about the trailer launch, Karan shared an emotional note, “It’s definitely nerve-wracking. I’ve been working for the past 16 years, but every time something releases, it still puts you on edge — you get really anxious. While I may not come from a theatre background, my hands and feet still go cold. I end up holding sir’s hand and saying, ‘Sir, your hands are cold too!’ But it feels really good. In fact, when I was sitting down earlier, I was watching MM sir perform, and then I looked at the poster and the people I was seated with. Honestly, I feel incredibly grateful that in my career, I’ve had the chance to share a poster with Anupam Kher ji, Boman Irani, Naseer sir, Jackie Dada — and to be part of a film with music by MM sir.
He further adds, It doesn’t feel like I must have done something right — it feels more like I’ve been really privileged to receive this kind of respect and honour. I remember when sir called me about a year and a half ago and narrated the concept to me. On day one, he even played the music — and I was sold. I told him, ‘Sir, I just want to work with you. We’ll figure out the rest along the way.’
And today, I feel truly happy. Quite frankly, I was very moved when I saw the trailer myself. So thank you, sir. A huge round of applause for Anupam Kher — because we all know how much love he has poured into this film. And when he says it’s made with heart and soul, he truly means it — because that’s exactly the kind of person he is.”
