MUMBAI: Today is the eve of our 74th Independence Day, where even though the current scenario of pretty much the entire world along with India is not ideal, the celebration of the day is basically about going to the roots and exhibiting patriotism.
While everybody has their own take to this day, actors, Karan Tacker and Saiyami Kher, who recently co-starred in the Hotstar Specials series, Special Ops opened up on their take on the same. Tacker said, "Freedom should be celebrated every day and I am ecstatic that my journey with Hotstar Specials' Special Ops taught me the same. Our soldiers and other officers give up their lives to ensure country's safety. I would like to take a moment and thank them for their invaluable and selfless service. They should be celebrated not just today, but every day."
Coming to Kher, she said, "For me patriotism is not only felt on 15th August and 26th January. It’s a feeling that should be within us every day. Every day in our capacity we should give back to our land. So even if it means tree plantations, not breaking a traffic signal, beach clean-ups or stopping someone from littering in front of you. Or in today’s times wearing a mask! Small acts make a difference. That’s what patriotism means for me. I am thankful that I had the chance to essay a powerful role in Hotstar Specials' Special Ops, which allowed me to delve deeper in the lives of our country's true heroes and their acts of selflessness. I take this day to thank the true heroes of our country who are fighting all odds and giving up their lives to protect us."
