MUMBAI: The pandemic has put a lot of actors out of work but Sanjay Dutt proved he is different from the ordinary! He has been on a digital release spree. After ‘Sadak 2‘ and ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’ (both are scheduled to release on Disney+Hotstar), Sanjay is ready for another digital premiere ‘Torbaaz,’ releasing straight on OTT in October 2020.

Directed by Girish Malik, this film also stars Nargis Fakhri and Rahul Dev. Sanjay’s character is of an army officer. The film’s story is about child suicide bombers in Afghanistan. It has been more than two and a half years since the movie started its shooting. “The film is high on VFX; we have recreated the entire city of Kabul with the help of special effects. Such films take time, said Malik justifying the long making period. “Since we had to (depict) Afghanistan, we did a recce for six months to get the right location (and zeroed in on Kyrgyzstan). So, one can’t say that the film is delayed because such processes take time,” added Rahul Mittra, one of the producers. This film went on the floors in December 2017 and finally completed its shooting in February last year.
As per reports, the OTT giant, Netflix has decided to play the host for ‘Torbaaz’ and plans to release it in the month of October. “We are in talks with big OTT players, but let’s wait for the final announcement,” said producer Rahul Mittra to a channel.
