MUMBAI: The gripping plot of Money Heist never fails to amaze viewers. Fans of Money Heist aka La Casa De Papel in Spanish, have really loved the journey of its two characters- the Professor (Alvaro Morte) and Lisbon, also known as Raquel Murillo (Itziar Ituno). While at first, the two were working against each other- with Raquel being an Inspector, however, after she fell in love with the Professor, she left Spain and moved to Thailand to be with him. In season three, she also joined the gang and helped them with the heist to rescue Rio (Miguel Herran). While so far, she has been with the group, theories on the Internet suggested that she might betray the Professor in Money Heist season 5!

It all began when Alvaro Morte teased fans about the ending of his character, the Professor. At the Chelsea Film Festival, he had said, “The Professor was a very weird guy, a very lonely guy and what happened with the band and finding love, it’s a really small chapter in his life. If we’re talking about the end of the character, I think at one point, I’d like to see him go back to that loneliness, that solitary life that he’s more used to and seems more comfortable in.” That’s all it took for fans to start contemplating about it and speculating what it could mean.

While most believed that Professor and Lisbon are rock-solid and something huge would have to happen for them to split. A Reddit user StudentDoctor 1908 wrote that it could only happen if some major fallout happened such as Raquel betraying him. “He initially did try to carry out a heist without any attachments, either between the band and with himself as well, but that didn't go down too well, seeing as Nairobi wanted him to be the father of her child. So, I don't think he can leave everything behind: the band who see this as their only family now and Raquel, whom he loves a lot. Unless something happens during season 5 and 6 that cause a major fallout such as Raquel betraying him or refusing to follow his plan I don't think anything will change,” it read.

Another theory stated that the Professor himself could bring in the twist and play a part in the separation. Given how much fans love seeing the Professor and Lisbon together, if they don’t end up together, it is surely going to be disappointing for their fans, but then again, don’t we all love a good plot twist? We’ll just have to wait and find out!
