Why did you take 9 years to do a Hindi film after Madras Cafe?
When I started my career, I never thought I would become an actor. I was very clear in my mind that I want to do only good films. Something that will really help me grow as an actor. So I was getting a lot of offers from down South post the release of Madras Cafe. I never thought that I would come back to Hindi films. I was very happy doing South films. Suddenly I started getting calls from Bollywood. So I thought of coming back and of course, Hindi is my first home. I am very excited; once again I am getting the feeling of a newcomer.
Did you see a funny or introverted side of Ajay Devgn while shooting for the web series?
I have not seen Ajay’s introverted or funny side till now. For me, to play this character was very difficult. So on the first day, only Ajay sir told me to rehearse the dialogues with him. It is a wonderful experience working with him. It is not like he is my friend or buddy. I still give him a lot of respect as my co-actor. I am lucky that he never played any pranks on me. So, we talked a lot while shooting the film. One thing I understood about him is that he is a very good human being.
Has there been a time when a failure made you stronger or motivated?
Initially, I have seen a lot of failures in my career. The best part about me is that I never give up and I am confident about myself. Failure or success, doesn’t affect me a too much because success doesn’t make me calm down or failure doesn’t make me more energetic. The most important thing for me is that, whether I am growing as an actor or not, and am I doing my work properly or not. So, success or failure doesn’t affect me at all.
