Super hit Movies like Gully Boy, Darlings, Pink and OTT series like Dahaad, Mirzapur 2 and Kaalkoot have one thing in common, yes it is Vijay Verma. Vijay is a versatile and talented actor. Hailing from Hyderabad, Vijay’s father, who he worshiped as a child ran a handicraft business. He wanted Vijay to look after the business and carry his legacy forward. Vijay however wanted to be an actor and when he expressed his desire to join the film industry to his father, the latter was strongly against it.
In an interview Vijay said, “He wanted me to join the business and I wanted to do anything but work with him. So, that’s where the conflict started, and he was also strong about his stand and I was fighting for my stand. It went on for years until I decided ‘I don’t think this man wants what is good for me’, then I ran away from home.”
Vijay said he didn’t speak to his father for 8 long years, He said, “It started with a great deal of love when I was a little boy. Then a great deal of hero worship that I had for him in my younger days. He used to fulfil every demand of mine; I was the youngest so I was spoilt. Until I came to an age where I started to have my own thoughts and he didn’t like it.”
Vijay and his father eventually patched up and the actor said his father regularly shares new recipes, bhajans and good morning messages with him.
