MUMBAI: Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp has been grabbing headlines lately. The show is getting interesting with each passing day, and the contestants are doing a fabulous job in creating the content that the audience wants. Lock Upp is full of controversies and ugly fights between contestants. And the host of the show Kangana Ranaut’s honest opinion is the icing on the cake.
Now, Payal Rohatgi has appologised to "Indian Muslims" days after making derogatory remarks against Zeeshan Khan. Payal had allegedly labeled him a terrorist.
Soon after Kangana told her that she was safe from eviction, Payal went up to a camera and apologised to Indian Muslims. After Nisha Rawal was evicted from the show, Payal told the camera, "Namaste mai hu Payal Rohatgi, Mai hath jod ke maafi mangti hu agar kisi ki bhawnaon ko maine hurt kiya. Ek community ki bhawnaon ko agar maine hurt kiya (I am Payal Rohatgi and I want to apologise with folded hands, if I have hurt anyone feelings or if I hurt any particular community's feelings) then I am really, really sorry. I request you to not create an issue out of this. I hope this can end with this show itself."
She added, "To haath jod k, jin bhartiya musalmano ko laga ki maine unke bhawnao ko thes pahunchayi hai ek statement se to uske liye mai mafi chahti hu" (I fold my hands and apologise to Indian Muslims who may have been hurt by one statement of mine).
It all started with a debate between the contestants on whether halal meat should be banned. Later, Zeeshan intervened when Payal was fighting with Mandana Karimi and Payal got angry. She told him not to spit on her before spitting on him and walking away. She then claimed that Zeeshan first spat on her. She called him disgusting and then said, "How can you promote halal meat?" before allegedly labelling him as a terrorist. The word was muted on the show.
Lock Upp is an engaging reality show with all the ingredients that will keep you glued to your seat: a daring celebrity host, compelling tasks, dramatic fights, and an exciting mix of contestants who will do anything and everything to survive in the show’s jail.
