MUMBAI: Actor Sunny Kaushal has been getting positive reviews for his role in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, which co-stars Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey as leads. Before this, Sunny worked on films including Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga, Gold, Shiddat, Hurdang, and Mili. The actor recently said that he is hoping for his professional "Zanjeer" moment.
Sunny Kaushal stated in a recent interview with a well-known news outlet that he hopes to follow in Amitabh Bachchan's footsteps of popularity following his role in the 1973 movie Zanjeer.
Sunny shares the same aspirations of all actors to land a major role, which he refers to as the "Zanjeer moment."
"Every actor is waiting for that one film that will allow them to take the next steps so that they can explore more about themselves," Sunny said.
Sunny Kaushal's statement came after being asked whether he was waiting for his 'Uri' moment. It was a reference to Uri: The Surgical Strike, his brother, actor Vicky Kaushal's one of the most successful movies till date.
The actor from Phir Aayi Hasseen Dilruba chose to refer to it as the "Zanjeer moment". For those who don't know, Big B's career began with the 1973 movie with Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bhaduri (now Bachchan), following a string of failures.
According to Sunny Kaushal, successful performers can pursue riskier roles in their careers.
The Shiddat actor went on to say that when artists are up against the wall, it's a good thing that they stay on the outer edges. He said, "It keeps them alive."
The actor, 34, admitted that he is waiting for that time to arrive in his life when he said that he wants to be "thrown into the deeper end".
Sunny Kaushal values accepting constructive criticism and shared tips that he found helpful in enhancing his acting skills in the same interview. Sunny revealed that a casting director had once expressed love for the actor's performance, but he additionally told him that his "eyes don't speak".
Sunny said that he was 24 years old at the time and that he later "working on it" to become a better person.
The 2021 film Hasseen Dillruba, starring Taapsee, Vikrant, and Harshvardhan Rane, has a sequel called Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba. This year's August 9 marked the release of the sequel.
