MUMBAI : Poacher is an Amazon Prime series, directed by Richie Mehta stars actors like Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Roshan Mathew, Nimisha Sajayan, Renuka Purohit and many more. Interestingly, Alia Bhatt has turned a producer for this show. Poacher aims to spread awareness about how poaching is resulting in extinction of wildlife and that the forest and its animals need to be saved. It is a crime investigation story wherein a forest officer makes a team and works from the shadows to catch the poacher and expose the whole racket.
Tellychakkar got in touch with Dibyendu Bhattacharya where we got into a conversation and he opened up about some interesting insights when we asked him about audience expectations, a genre he finds challenging and much more.
Audience Expectation and attraction point of the show
To this, Dibyendu Bhattacharya said that he wants the audience to watch the series as a cut-throat crime thriller which will be enough as they want the audience to be entertained and while watching when they observe what the officers go through, it’ll be like an awareness being spread as they will see how the ecosystem is limited and how we humans should take care and maintain everything in nature. With an interesting perspective, Dibyendu Bhattacharya also said that even with a narcissistic point of view, it is important to save these animals because if we don’t take care of the ecosystem then we won’t have the fuel we want, we won’t have the water we want, we won’t have the trees we want, we won’t have land for cultivation. The actor added that this is not just a problem of India but it’s a global issue.
A challenging genre
To this, Dibyendu Bhattacharya said that there is no genre that will challenge his limits as he is an actor who acts across the genres, and is not a genre-specific actor.
Upcoming projects
To this, Dibyendu Bhattacharya said that he will soon be seen in a Bengali movie Bon Bibi which will release on 1st March. Describing the movie, Dibyendu Bhattarya said that it is a film about a folklore of Sundarbans and is a very different genre film altogether which is once again a jungle film. He further added that Maharani Season 3 will release on 7th March and he will be seen again in Undekhi season 3.
This was our conversation with Dibyendu Bhattacharya for Poacher.
