Prime Video Greenlights Season Three of "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power"

MUMBAI: Mumbai, India – February 13, 2025 – Prime Video announced today that Season Three of the critically acclaimed series "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" is set to begin production this spring at Shepperton Studios in the UK.

The award-winning series, which has captivated over 170 million viewers worldwide, continues to drive new Prime membership sign-ups. "We're thrilled to confirm a third season of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,'" said Vernon Sanders, Head of Television, Amazon MGM Studios. "The creative team has an extraordinary vision for what's to come, and we can't wait to share it with our global customers."

Season Three welcomes acclaimed directors Charlotte Brändström, Sanaa Hamri, and Stefan Schwartz. Brändström returns as executive producer and director, having previously directed multiple episodes in Seasons One and Two. Hamri, who directed several episodes in Season Two, also returns, while Schwartz joins the team for the first time.

The talented directors bring their expertise to the upcoming season, with Brändström's credits including "Shōgun" (FX) and "The Witcher" (Netflix), Hamri's credits including "The Wheel of Time" (Prime Video) and "Empire" (Fox), and Schwartz's credits including "The Boys" (Prime Video) and "Luther" (BBC).

"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" has achieved unprecedented success, boasting a broad, highly engaged global fan base. Critics have praised the series for its epic scope and production values, with Seasons One and Two certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

The series is produced by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay, alongside executive producers Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and executive producer-director Charlotte Brändström.
