MUMBAI: Revathi Pillai has been a part of web series like Yeh Meri Family, Kota Factory, and others. She was recently seen in Capital A small a, a short film which premiered on Amazon mini TV. Revathi is called the national crush, and her cute looks always grabs everyone’s attention.

TellyChakkar recently interacted with Revathi and spoke to her about upcoming being called the national crush and more…

What was your reaction when you first came to know about being called the national crush?

When I heard that comment for the first time, I did not believe it. I thought maybe one person had said it. But, then literally it was like a wave. Everyone started commenting and texting me, and in DMs also they were calling me that. I still was in denial that it can’t happen because one or two months before another series had been released and the actress in that was called the national crush, and then I started getting that tag. So, it is very flattering, but if I let it get to me, I will just be in my bubble, and I will not be able to get better roles.

As you are called a national crush, does that put a pressure on you while choosing roles?

There’s no pressure of keeping up the title. But yes, there’s an expectation that my audience and viewers have from me. I want me to keep working and keep giving them content that they want to watch. I will be working for that, but I cannot promise to always remain the national crush because the role that I played in that project was of the girl next door and the crush, so obviously I will be given the title. It is very flattering for me to be called the national crush as it’s not a small thing. I am very thankful to everyone who still considers me to be the national crush. But, I will do other roles as well.

Tell us something about your upcoming projects…

There are projects lined up, but now only ‘Capital A small a’ is written all over.
