Shark Tank India Season 4: Head, Ad Revenue of Sony LIV Ranjana Mangla talks about the response of the audience for this season and reveals which is her favourite deal cracked on the show – Exclusive

Shark Tank India Season 4 is doing exceptionally well on the digital platform and the audience are hooked on to the show. TellyChakkar contacted Ranjana Mangla, the Head of Ad Revenue at Sony LIV, and asked her what she thought about the audience reception to Shark Tank Season 4 and which deal she preferred.

MUMBAI: Shark Tank India is one of the most loved and successful reality shows on television.

The TV reality show features a host of entrepreneurs making business presentations to a panel of venture capitalists called 'Sharks'.

These Sharks decide whether or not to invest in their companies. They also give a chance to start-ups to raise money to expand their businesses.

In this season Aman Gupta (Co-Founder and CMO of boAt), Anupam Mittal (Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com – People Group), Namita Thapar (Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (Co-Founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics), Peyush Bansal (Founder and CEO of Lenskart.com) are the sharks of the show.

This season is doing extremely well and is doing well on the digital platform.

TellyChakkar got in touch with Ranjana Mangla, the Head, Ad Revenue at Sony LIV, and asked her what she thought about the audience reception to Shark Tank Season 4 and which deal is her favourite.  

What has been the response of the audience to Shark tank season 4?

This country has witnessed a new manner of consuming entertainment content. This year has been amazing for us, and we have learned from the previous three seasons, which we have implemented to the best of our abilities this season. The audience's favourite is this show. The growth that this season has seen is fantastic. There is a 27% increase in time spent, a 40% rise in CTV growth, a 22% increase in overall reach, and the show seems promising and everything is going on good. We are in a happy space with the response.

How has been the performance of Shark Tank on OTT especially the shift from TV to Digital platform?

It has always been a popular show on TV and OTT, and this season is unique to the Digital platform. In many respects, the internet has changed the way we consume content. In the last five years, there has been a lot of learning in the entertainment and sports material, and it is not specific to India; this is a global phenomenon.

What's noteworthy to us is that we have a unique blend of content from a 25-year-old show like KBC, and the youngest reality show on the block, Shark Tank India. It allows us to test and observe how things are progressing. If you look at the combined reach of OTT, it is comparable to any other significant social media platform.

So far, all of the signals are green and everything is working well. At the end of the day, we are a content-driven firm, and this is simply a byproduct of the material we create. The season is only three weeks old, and a lot can happen along the way; I don't want to place a number on anything amazing so far.

What is your favourite deal cracked from this season?

I would not want to remark on it; I believe that any transaction that captures the audience's and Shark's attention will receive the most money. Though I wouldn't want to include my pin, which is my favourite bargain, because it would be extremely unfair. All 180 pitchers who appear on the show will be among my favourites. Some would provide funds for the future, while others would come in to try and learn something before leaving, and all are equally special and important to us. I would not want to name a certain brand.

Well, no doubt that Shark Tank Season 4 is doing well and it is the favourite of the audience.
