Ever since the direct to digital wave hit OTT space, a spate of movies have skipped theatrical release and streamed on major streaming platforms. But there’s one little detail that stands out about all the digital releases that have happened until now – almost all those movies have been from regional film industries – Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. There was just one major Bollywood release – Gulabo Sitabo – in the interim, while numerous regional movies have released and made a mark.
It’s now the turn of Bollywood to make noise on OTT.
